Caersws N.P.S round 4 September

This track is quite frankly the best course I have ridden! It seems to always be dusty and has many big jumps. It is also one of the steepest courses in Britain.

Saturday was real fun; I loved the big jumps and technical steep parts right from my first run. I managed 5 runs on Saturday and my seeding run was average with a few mistakes. I was seeded 5th place, so I wondered up the hill later that evening to find some lines.

As with all the N.P.S rounds it all depends on just the one run, no second chances the pressure is on to get a good clean run. I started the run well enough and was feeling good but I over cooked a couple of corners almost coming to a standstill on one. I kept pushing on but felt that this could have blown my chance of a good time.
Danny Hart looked to be feeling the pressure after Gareth Brewin got exactly the same time as Danny in the seeding run. Danny pulled it out the bag though to take the win with Gareth 2nd, Ryan Martin 3rd and myself in forth with Harry Heath taking up the last slot on the podium.

I can’t not mention Sam Shucksmith, the winner of Junior, who came over to the van with a smile the size of him!

Here are a few photo’s from the weekend.
- bottom section
- last step down (this is a good one to whip huge)
- double drop (fastest way was to jump the lot)
- Mojo factory Machanic; Pete
- 2nd to last jump
- Chris Sinden over last jump
- Elite podium
- Danny, Sam and myself
- Masters podium - how pleased is the winner!
- Junior podium
- Youth podium

Thank you to Lifestyle Ford, Rezurgence, Muddyfox and Mojo. Good to see Polish Peter on the spanners for team Mojo. Nice one Pete wish you all the best!

P.O.R.C Race 9th September 2007

This track was the best course yet! It had everything… including some real speed over a descent time. The race was timed by a proper timing system.

The conditions were hot and dry so no complaints there! This track took both a high level of strength and technical ability to do well in. Line choice was kept to inside lines on every corner but not all were obvious.

Racing was good… just under 100 people turned up to race! After first runs Oli Burton and myself were the only ones on 46 seconds. The same was to be said after 2nd runs but everyone was creeping up as limits were broken. After a break between race runs all was to be done on 3rd and final runs.

On the final runs there were many faster runs being posted and now Ross Hamond had the fastest time on a low 46 second run. Oli Burton and Sam Shucksmith were also on low 46 second runs and I had a middle 46 run. I was 2nd with Alistair Gubins closely behind with a 47.

More tracks like that please!

Here are some pictures:
